Lenevo Lepad Android Tablet
China’s premier PC maker Lenovo first said about its Android tablet Lepad earlier in July this year. Back then, this was told that Lepad will be released during the fourth quarter of 2010. However, the plan was deferred and now it is expected that the Lepad will see the light of the day sometime in March 2011. Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing said that Lepad will be available in the US in 2011. But he refused to divulge much technical specifications of the Lepad. We expect that the specifications of the tablet to be announced soon.
Acer Android Tablet
Acer on Tuesday, unveiled two Android tablet devices which will go on sales from 2011. No official names of the tablets have been given yet. The tablets unveiled are different in size. The larger tablet has a 10.1″ multi-touch display along with a dual-core 1GHz processor, an HDMI output with screen resolution of 1280×800 pixels. The tablet has built in Gyroscope for game lovers and the tablet comes with front and rear face cameras along with Flash support. The tablet also comes with a multi-touch screen capable of 10 points of contact.
On the other hand, the smaller tablet will have 7″ screen powered by a dual core 1.2GHz Qualcomm CPU with picture resolution measuring 1280×800 pixels. The tablet supports Adobe Flash and will come with dual cameras and HDMI output. The tablet will also support Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity. It is expected that the tablets will be available sometimes in April 2011. Acer refused to comment on the price of the tablets. The devices are expected to compete with Apple’s iphone and Samsung Galaxy Tab.
ASUS Eee Pad Android Tablet
This is another most anticipated Android Tablet slated to be launched in 2011. The tablet is priced at $399 and is expected to be launched in March 2011. ASUS has not revealed about the specifications of the tablet, but it is believed that it will be the variant of Eee Pad EP101TC. Many changes are expected to be take place in this new tablet.
Motorola Android Tablet
Another Android tablet which seeks to create buzz in the tablet market is coming from Motorola. Motorola’s Co-CEO, Sanjay Jha said that the company will launch the tablet early next year. The tablet, expected to have 7 to 10 inch screen is codenamed Stingray. It will try to entice users with a more advanced version of Android OS. Mr Jha said that the current version of the OS is optimized for smart-phones and does not suit tablets. Notably, rumors of the tablet hitting the market have for almost been a year now.
HTC Android 3.0 Tablet
If rumors are to be believed, smartphone manufacturer HTC is planning to launch an Android 3.0 tablet in the first quarter of 2011. It is anticipated that the device will be using Chrome OS and the sound relationship of HTC with Google is expected to give the tablet a distinct advantage in the market. The rumors have not been confirmed by HTC, but then they say that there is no smoke without fire.
Cius Android Tablet
Cisco Systems will sell its Android Tablet Cius, from March 2011. The tablet was announced by the company in earlier in June as a mobile device targeted for business users. The 7″ tablet will use Android 2.2 OS and is powered by Intel 1.6GHz atom processor. The tablet weighs 1.5 pounds and has support for Wi-Fi and 3G. Cisco will also equip the device with software so that important data can be wiped out in case the tablet is stolen. Though the company has not revealed the price of the product, it is anticipated that the device will be priced under $1,000.
